Dr. Lee's dissertation focused on quantifying performance with advanced upper limb prostheses and control approaches. She is now a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University.
Michael Gonzalez
Ph.D., Robotics, 2023
Dr. Gonzalez's dissertation focused on characterizing and augmenting sensory feedback in upper limb prosthesis users. He worked as a post-doc in the lab for a few months before accepting a position at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Luis Nolasco
Ph.D., Movement Science, 2022
Dr. Nolasco's dissertation focused on the role of prosthetic alignment on biomechanics and stability during turning and sit to stand. He did an 8-month post-doc in the lab after his defense and is now a Forensic Biomechanics Consultant at Explico.
Jay Kim
Ph.D., Movement Science and Mechanical Engineering, 2021
Dr. Kim's dissertation focused on assessing the potential benefits of powered ankle prostheses. He did a post-doc at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago, IL and is now a Motion Scientist at Apple.
Deema Totah
Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering, 2020 (co-advisor Kira Barton)
Dr. Totah's dissertation focused on measuring and optimizing ankle-foot-orthosis stiffness. She did a 1-year post-doc in the RBL where she focused on a bimodal run/walk prosthesis. She is now an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of Iowa.
Susannah Engdahl
Ph.D. Biomedical Engineering, 2018
Dr. Engdahl's dissertion focused on assessing differences between body-powered and myoelectric upper limb prostheses. She did a post-doc at George Mason University and is now a Manager of Health Policy and Research at the American Orthotics and Prosthetics Association.
Jeffrey Cowley
Ph.D., Kinesiology 2017
Dr. Cowley's dissertation focused on how muscle fatigue and pain influence repetitive movements. He is now an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Southern Utah University.
